Eric Sato

Known as the best defensive specialist in the world in the late 80’s and early 90’s while playing for the USA National Team, Eric Sato is a two-time Olympic medalist (Gold ’88, Bronze ’92), and also owns gold medals from the 1986 World Championships and the 1987 Pan-Am Games, and bronze medals from the 1991 World Cup and the 1994 World Championships. Sato was also a member of two USA Volleyball Open national Championship teams, and was also named Defensive Player of the Year on the 4-man pro beach tour in 1997.

Aimee believes that consistent technical work and feedback are a must for ALL ages and skill levels but that developing and maintaining teamwork skills and great attitudes are even more critical. For her, there is an overriding emphasis on enjoying the experience as a whole and creating a lifelong love for the game. Aimee also stresses consistent hard work and respect for one another and coaches. She teaches her coaches to be kind, fair, consistent and disciplined with their kids.

Bridgette Salas
Bridgette SalasCoach
Bridgette is an 18-year coaching veteran! She has spent time coaching indoor and sand programs a the Varsity high school level, while also spending 9 years as the director of Showcase Volleyball Club. Her strengths include defense, serve-receive, and hitting to name a few. She believes that volleyball is all about a good attitude and maximum effort. When coaching, she provides continuous feedback while also instilling a love for the game to each of her players.

Sherry Clouet
Sherry ClouetCoach
Sherry played at both Syracuse University and Florida State University and was highly decorated, earning All-American Honors. She spent time coaching collegiately at Florida International University as well as Florida State University. She believes in providing direct feedback to each player and pushing the individual to get their best results. Sherry also stresses the importance of mental toughness for the player, including confidence and positive self talk when difficult situations arise.

Sola Martin
Sola MartinCoach
Sola began her playing career locally at Rancho Buena Vista High School. She continued playing as the starting setter at Point Loma Nazarene University. She led her team to a third-place finish in the NAIA National Championships, being awarded a three-time All-American and three-time MVP. Sola has now coached for SoCal VBC for the last 12 years and continues to instill the love for the game and technique in many of our youth players.

Chris Muscat
Chris MuscatCoach
Chris has now completed 11 seasons at the Division 1 level and has helped to produce 11 All-American players. He began coaching at Stanford where they attended back-to-back National Championship matches. Chris recently took over as the head coach for MiraCosta College in Oceanside. He believes that players and teams alike should set goals for consistent improvement over a full career — instilling a passion and dedication to the sport for every athlete e works with. He believes that players should understand the “why” behind a technique, and the “feel” for the correct motor skill so that in live situations, they player is prepared.
