The Gold Leaf is our way of honoring those who have dedicated their time and resources to helping the SoCal Volleyball Club. Without the help, love, and support of the families, parents, and players that make up SoCal, we would not be who we are today. So we want to say, thank you!

Jose Munoz

  • Jose is not only one of SoCal’s most loved and appreciated coaches. He is also one of the most creative…ever! He continually finds new, fun drills to add to practice to keep his team engaged, learning, and loving volleyball! Jose always goes above and beyond for SoCal. He donates his time whenever he can. No one likes sitting at the mechanic for their own car! However, when the SoCal vans were having issues, Jose donated his time to drive the van up to Mira Messa and sit and wait patiently for the inspection and then drive back. He always goes above and beyond what is asked and required of him. He shows the athletes, staff, and parents at SoCal what it is to put others above yourself and to always choose to be kind.

Eric Ziegast

  • Eric is the absolute definition of a dedicated dad! He brings his daughter Maggie to all SoCal events on time and ready to roll and he always sticks around to lend a helping hand. Whether he is there to cheer on the team, shag balls, or support the girls, he is always willing to help. He is the first parent to schedule team bonding for the players down to the details of transportation and food for the girls. He has even been known to bring in pizza before practice on a weekly basis! Eric volunteers his time regularly to help-out with any events going on at the club. He is a master for not only setting up movie night but bringing food and blankets to ensure that everyone there is having a good time. Eric sets the bar high when it comes to being a dedicated volleyball dad!

The Brecht Family

  • The Brecht family has shown their love and generosity for SoCal in many ways. When the Mercedes Sprinters were having issues they allowed us to bring them into the BMW dealership they own in Escondido, FREE OF CHARGE! The vans allow us to tote players and parents to and from tournaments and events. So, to have them out of commission affects a lot of people. The Brecht family was so generous and took some of that stress away by offering their services.

There are so many incredible parents, players, and siblings that make up the SoCal family. We cannot successfully do what we do without the help and support of all of you. Your love and kindness does not go unnoticed.
