  • An active leader in our local volleyball community, is current Varsity Coach at Vista High School and has coached at the college level.
  • Led SoCal’s 16-1’s to 2nd place finish at Junior National Qualifier

Players would describe Aimee’s coaching style as, “tough but fair, passionate, focused on technique and ball control, never mad or yelling but positive, smiling and nurturing.”

At UC Irvine, she was the president and captain of the women’s club volleyball team for three years, earning the SCCVL Player of the Year award her last three years. Aimee was also the President of the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball league.

Aimee Asebroek graduated with honors from the University of California, Irvine in 2005 where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and her minor in Educational Studies. At Irvine, she was the president and captain of the Women’s Club Volleyball Team for three years, earning the SCCVL Player of the Year award her last three years, and was also the President of the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball league.

Aimee started her club coaching career with North County Volleyball Club’s 12 and under team at the age of 19, and has since coached at SoCal Volleyball Club. She has coached at the 14s, 16s, 17s, and 18’s level for girls, and the 14’s level for boys. She has also run camps and coached for the City of Vista, Club Strictly Volleyball and North County Volleyball Club.

Aimee has coached at San Marcos High School and assisted at AIAA Conference Champion Cal State San Marcos University, and worked closely with their head coach, A.I.I. Volleyball Coach of the Year, Andrea Leonard on both the coaching and recruiting side. She coached 4 years as the Varsity Coach at Vista High School.

Aimee believes that consistent technical work and feedback are a must for ALL ages and skill levels but that developing and maintaining teamwork skills and great attitudes are even more crucial. For her, there is an overriding emphasis on enjoying the experience as a whole and creating a lifelong love for the game. Aimee also stresses consistent hard work and respect for one another and coaches. She teaches her coaches to be kind, fair, consistent and disciplined with their kids.

 Kenny recently received his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science with a concentration in Stem Cell at New Jersey Medical School while conducting research with experimental medications in hopes to help find a cure for malaria. Prior to this, he spent four years serving in the United States Marines Corps in the infantry which he attributes the development of his tough work ethic and rigorous expectations of his players. His career as a volleyball player started in high school where he earned several awards most notably an athletic scholarship to play  DI Volleyball for Rutgers Newark University. At Rutgers, he earned a Bachelors degree in biology and completed research in a computational Neuroscience department, where he says he learned that attention to detail plays a role on and off the court.
While playing for The Scarlet Raiders Kenny was team captain his last two years. He earned all-tournament team honors on several occasions, most notably at Rutgers Golden Dome Classic Tournament and Long Beach University’s Active Ankle Tournament. His volleyball knowledge ranges from both indoor and beach with over a decade of experience competing at the highest levels.Kenny has coached in various capacities, ranging from Men’s collegiate volleyball to boys middle school and everything in between. He is constantly building on his knowledge and furthering his expertise in all positions. Hard work and hustle are the pillars of his coaching philosophy and tries to instill that in his players.

Kerena’s players would describe her coaching style as fun, constantly supportive, and persistent. She requires a lot from her players and they always show great improvement. Kerena has been coaching for many years at the club whether it be in the local program, or assisting travel teams.

Kerena enters her fourth year at SoCal where she takes her competitive experience as four-year Varsity player at Vista High School, under former Vista coach Aimee, and now standout player at Mira Costa College. She has been instrumental in running SoCal’s summer camps, clinics, and FutureStars, and specializes in player development.

Tyler Branson-White

Tyler Branson-White has been associated with the games of volleyball since he was small enough to curl up and hide behind one! His love and inspiration for the game exploded when he was about 8 and started assisting with line calling, stat keeping and of course a great mascot for his mothers collegiate team.

At age 12 Tyler’s passion and competitive spirit kicked up a level as he started practicing with his mothers team. From there he played on a regular basis with his mothers college team and her club teams. Tyler joined a boys volleyball club and played competitively for about 3 months until the funding for it was disbanded. Tyler continued playing and expanding his knowledge of volleyball until he graduated from high school. After that he joined the Marine Corps and strayed away from volleyball for a couple of years. Now he joined SoCal Volleyball club and is excited to be apart of the organization!

  • Named “Coach of the Year” for Northern California Santa Clara Valley Conference, Nov. 2015 & nominated, 2013

Serena was a Columbia College volleyball starter, competing in an NAIA National Championship, 2 Final Four’s, and 3 NAIA national tournaments; finishing 2nd (2010) & 3rd (2011) in the nation. After finishing her playing career at Columbia, she moved to San Jose, CA and began her coaching career. Serena now has 5+ years of coaching experience. While in San Jose she coached club with Eclipse volleyball club for and Red Rock volleyball club; as well as served as the Head Coach for Lynbrook High School. While coaching at Lynbrook High School she was named “Coach of the Year” for Northern California Santa Clara Valley Conference in November 2015 & nominated in November 2013.

Serena moved to Oceanside, CA in March 2017 where she is currently serving as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at University of Saint Katherine.
