Orange County, CA — It is with great excitement and anticipation we announce the launch of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) to the greater volleyball community. The PVL, in conjunction with the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA), is proud to announce our inaugural 2020-2021
Girls’ season information.

The PVL’s Mission is to promote the sport of volleyball through an organized, thoughtful, and consumer-friendly approach to tournament play. The league will maintain a mutually-beneficial working relationship with the SCVA while operating as a stand-alone league. All PVL teams, coaches, and athletes will be registered through the SCVA to ensure proper insurance coverage and access to staff background checks and SafeSport. Teams will continue to be eligible for earning bids to USAV Jr. Nationals through the region.

Teams will earn their way into the PVL via seeding and a play-in tournament (18U-13U age groups – top 36 teams, 12U age group – top 24 teams). The tournament schedule and format will keep a family-centric focus by being respectful of avoiding holidays (e.g., Mother’s Day, Easter), and efficiently running the day’s tournament format, while still creating elite competition. To keep things fun, top-performing teams will be recognized for their achievements throughout the tournament series.

The PVL’s leadership team holds a combined 50+ years of club volleyball coaching, tournament, and leadership experience. The league is helmed by Executive Director Ki Yi, and he welcomes all questions directly via email or phone per the contact information provided below. Ki states, “We’re excited to provide a fantastic experience for our participating clubs and families, while continuing to better our sport. Participation in the PVL is a badge of pride for Southern California volleyball – the future of volleyball in our region is bright!”

We can’t wait to get started. Please keep an eye on the PVL’s website ( www.premiervbleague.com ), which will be updated regularly with information as it pertains to the league as it becomes available.
