Makenzie started her volleyball career at just 11 years old. She went on to play 2 years of varsity volleyball at San Marcos High School, where she was captain and made second-team All Avocado League her senior year. Makenzie played for SoCal 2 years, and then went on to play for Sonoma State University Women’s Club Volleyball. Makenzie played her freshman and sophomore years before tearing her ACL and both lateral and medial meniscus’, which ultimately led to coaching.

Makenzie coached at Absolute Volleyball Club for a 12-2’s that went on to finish first at Regionals in their age division and fifth at Nationals. Makenzie then was offered a position to head coach a JV middle school team and assistant coach the Varsity team at Convent of the Sacred Heart Schools in San Francisco, CA. After graduating from college, Makenzie came back to her roots and currently part of the FutureStars coaching staff at SoCal. She hopes to share her love and passion for volleyball to boys and girls at any age.
